Over a dining table is the classic placement — a pendant (or cluster of pendants) hung 70–80cm above the table creates an intimate, restaurant-quality atmosphere. Kitchen islands benefit enormously from pendants, as do bedside tables and reading corners.
Scale is everything with pendant lights. A single large pendant makes a dramatic statement in a spacious room. In smaller spaces, a cluster of smaller pendants at varying heights creates visual interest without overwhelming the room.
Always hire a qualified electrician for pendant light installation. Ensure the pendant is centred over the table or island. Use a dimmer switch to control the mood — bright for meals, low for ambiance.
